2004 Summer Institute on Evidence-Based Practice Fostering Quality |

General Information Graduate Courses in EBP Pre- and Post-Masters and Pre- and Post-Doctoral Courses in EBP Formal graduate coursework in evidence-based practice is offered in conjunction with the 2004 EBP Summer Institute. Coursework is provided through The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio . Two courses are offered sequentially: one in conjunction with the Summer Institute and the second in Fall, 2004. Significant portions of the coursework may be completed as distance education. Attendance at the Institute is requisite and students pay course tuition. Course enrollment is limited and instructor permission for enrollment is required. Pending funding, a limited number of scholarships may be awarded to selected students. Future Institutes In response to healthcare providers' need for greater EBP skills, we have designed a long range plan for coordinated continuing education programming via annual evidence-based practice institutes. ACE Lectureship Carolyn Clancy, MD, holds the 2004 ACE Lectureship, presenting the opening keynote, Quality, Outcomes, and Cost: The Role of Evidence in our 21 st Century Climate. Dr. Clancy is Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and has provided guidance to the EBP activities at the UTHSCSA, ACE, VERDICT and Texas State Legislature.
VERDICT Lectureship Paul Batalden, MD, holds the 2004 VERDICT Lectureship, presenting the plenary session, Evidence and Innovation in Health Care: Microsystems. Dr. Batalden is Program Director of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Leadership Preventive Medicine Residency Program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center . His pioneering work guides organizational change. |
